Awgu, Enugu State – The Executive Chairman of Awgu Local Government Area, Hon. Uchenna Joseph Okolo, has felicitated with the Muslim faithful in Awgu and across Nigeria on the joyous celebration of Eid-El-Maulud, the commemoration of the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Speaking through his Special Adviser on General Media and Publicity, Hon. Tochukwu Chukwu, Hon. Okolo described Eid-El-Maulud as a period of spiritual reflection, renewed faith, and communal harmony, urging all Nigerians to emulate the Prophet’s exemplary virtues of peace, love, tolerance, and selfless service to humanity.
“On behalf of the Government and the good people of Awgu Local Government, I warmly felicitate with our dear Muslim brothers and sisters on this special occasion of Eid-El-Maulud.
The birth and life of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) remind us of the essence of living a life rooted in love, compassion, humility, and unity. This celebration offers us the opportunity to reflect on these timeless values and apply them in our daily lives,” Hon. Okolo said.
The Chairman also commended the Executive Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for his visionary and inclusive leadership which, he noted, has transformed Enugu into a safe haven for all Nigerians, regardless of tribe, religion, or region.
“Under Governor Mbah’s administration, Enugu has become a peaceful, united, and investor-friendly state where everyone enjoys equal opportunities without discrimination. His commitment to security, prosperity, and inclusive governance is a beacon of hope, not just for Enugu State but for Nigeria at large,” Hon. Okolo added.
He urged the Muslim community to use this sacred season to pray for sustained peace, security, and prosperity in Enugu State and Nigeria at large, while also reaffirming his administration’s unwavering dedication to grassroots development, unity, and social harmony.
“Let us embrace one another beyond religious or ethnic divides. Together, we can build a stronger Awgu, a more prosperous Enugu, and a better Nigeria,” he said.
As Muslim faithful gather in mosques and homes to mark this year’s Eid-El-Maulud, Hon. Okolo’s message resonates deeply:
“Live in peace, spread love, respect one another, and work together for a brighter tomorrow.”
From all of us at Awgu Local Government Council, we wish our Muslim brothers and sisters:
“Eid Mubarak! May Allah’s blessings bring you peace, prosperity, and endless joy.”
