The former three time Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ike Ekweremadu has advised youths to stay away from drug abuse which he says will do nothing but damage their future.
He made this known to UGAMATV due to the rising menace of drug abuse among the youths in the country.
Addressing press men, Ekweremadu stated that it doesn’t help anybody, adding that “Most of us went through school there was drug abuse and cultism there but we didn’t join, if we had we won’t be where we are today.

“So if they want to destroy themselves fine, but if they want to be good citizens and help themselves and their community they should keep away from drugs.
“It gives you false sense of importance and confidence and makes them do unreasonable things because of its influence, and after some minutes or hours it disappears and they realize they have landed themselves in very difficult problems, and that is what happens to most of this criminals, they take hard drugs, commit one crime and after they start begging, it doesn’t make sense.
“The earlier they get out of it the better for them because it won’t take them anywhere”, he concluded.
