Hon. Dennis Oguerinwa Amadi, the member representing Udi and Ezeagu Federal constituency have urged students and youths to avoid taking the prevalent drug rampaging the society at the moment, crystal meth (mkpuru mmiri) and other hard drugs.
He made this call during an event sponsored by Hon. Toby Okechukwu where he paid the WAEC fees of over sixty public schools in his constituency.
Advising the students on the after effects of the drugs, he said “We are using every forum we meet the youths now to educate our youths on the need to avoid the killing substance that has kicked into our society which they call mkpuru mmiri which its multiplying effect is to generate an avalanche of mad men and women of disorder in the society now and in the future.

Pleading with the students, he said “I plead with you, this issue is very critical. I want you students to be ambassadors against the intake of this drug and its trafficking within the southeast.
“Use every channel available to you, starting from your councilor, traditional rulers, church leaders, major stakeholders even to our state governor, become whistle blowers to expose people who dive into this substance that is about to damage our society.
“We are trying to avoid a society whereby the entire populace of our rural area and sub-urban is filled with the highest number of mad men and women which is the effect of crystal meth.
“If you want to prevent madness around you in the next ten years anybody you see that is dealing on it or have traces of taking it, report it immediately and you are going to be rewarded immensely because you are saving lives.
Concluding he said “The era we are now is an era where people are taking that dangerous substance that has rendered society useless”.
