DELTA BARS, VIPS, ESCORTS , AIDES FROM ASABA AIRPORT

THE Delta State Government has said that VIPs, political aides and all other forms of escorts, who have no business flying, will not be allowed into the departure lounge as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Special Project Director of Asaba International Airport, Mr Austin Ayemidejor, who disclosed this on Wednesday in Asaba, said the airport would resume full commercial activities this week.

Ayemidejor further disclosed that the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority had inspected and approved the state of the airport vis-a-vis the new operational COVID-19 guideline.

He said, “As at today, we have fully complied with the guidelines put forward and NCAA officials, after inspection, are fully satisfied with the protocols we have put in place.

“So, as it stands, we are fully ready, while we await the resumption of flights, of which we are confident that it will not exceed this week.

“We want to emphasise that persons, who really have no business with flying, will be stopped from entering the terminal building or even gaining access to the departure point.
