Defense minister, NSA sipping tea in UK while terrorists pound Nigeria – Rhodes-Vivour

A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, has slammed the recent state visit of President Bola Tinubu to the United Kingdom.

In an interview on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Friday, Rhodes-Vivour said security chiefs were sipping tea in UK while bombs go off in Borno State.

Recall that there was a bomb blast in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State just before President Bola Tinubu’s visit to the United Kingdom.

The President was accompanied by the Minister of Defense, General Christopher Musa, rtd, and the National Security Adviser, NSA, Nuhu Ribadu, among others.

Rhodes-Vivour said, “In relation to the trip to England, the thing that jumps out at me is how the NSA and the defense boss were in England, sipping coffee, sipping tea while bombs were going off in Maiduguri.

“The NSA and the Minister of Defence were part of Tinubu’s delegation to the UK for the State Visit.

“This came at a time when bombs killed about 23 persons and injured and displaced many more. I cannot reconcile the insensitivity and carelessness of this government. Sipping tea while all this is happening is completely disgraceful.”
