A resident of the area and fellow commercial motorcyclist, Suleiman Ibrahim, said the incident occurred on Monday night, May 25, 2026.

Speaking with Daily Trust on Wednesday, the source said the deceased was returning to Abaji town from Agyana village after dropping off a passenger when the attackers blocked the road and flagged him down.

He said the hoodlums immediately brought out a knife and st@bbed him in the neck and abdomen before escaping with his motorcycle.

“It was in our presence that he picked up a passenger to Agyana. We waited for his return until about 10pm but he did not come back. We then mobilised to search for him and eventually discovered his lifeless body by the roadside,” he said.

Ibrahim said the police and local vigilantes were alerted and quickly moved to the scene to evacuate the corpse to Abaji.
