Club of Rome Inducts Nigerian Development Visionary Chukwudi Johnpaul Okolo, Champion of Ethics and Grassroots Transformation

The Club of Rome, a globally renowned think tank dedicated to fostering systems change for a sustainable future, has officially welcomed Nigerian-born social development strategist and public policy expert, Chukwudi Johnpaul Okolo, into its prestigious membership.

Okolo’s induction recognises his exceptional commitment to ethics, grassroots transformation, and sustainable development—values that have defined his career and impact across Nigeria and beyond.

Founder and Director of Skills and Labour Services Ltd. Nigeria, Okolo has championed reforms that promote dignity, opportunity, and regular migration, while driving sustainable youth empowerment. His work integrates policy insight with community action, ensuring that development reaches the most vulnerable populations.

Armed with a master’s degree in Public Policy from the University of Erfurt, Germany, and a foundation in philosophy, Okolo has spearheaded innovative initiatives including school-based ethics clubs designed to empower children as active stakeholders in societal progress. His award-winning project from the 2021 Globethics.net Hackathon has since evolved into a nationwide programme across basic schools.

In July 2022, Okolo was honoured with the University of Erfurt’s Commitment Award for his pioneering social project supporting women breadwinners in low-income settings—successfully piloted in Enugu, Nigeria. He has also facilitated academic and technological partnerships between Nigerian institutions and counterparts in Germany and Turkey, bolstering sustainable youth development.

Speaking to members of The Club of Rome, Okolo expressed deep gratitude for the honour and issued a clarion call for collective action:

“This membership comes with a task-to continue and intensify the work that impacts humanity. As societies navigate the pressures of selfishness, materialism, and underdevelopment, the urgency to join hands, speak out, and act for the common good becomes imminent. This is a wake-up call for all to make our actions and words count towards positive change.”

Okolo’s appointment reinforces The Club of Rome’s commitment to nurturing visionary leaders who blend strategic foresight with community-driven solutions, setting a blueprint for transformative change in an increasingly interconnected world.
