The Lagos State Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Stephen Adegbite, has called on Christians to embody the true meaning of Easter by showing sacrificial love to fellow citizens and those in leadership.
He made this appeal at the recently concluded Destiny 2026 conference in Lagos, noting that the Easter season should inspire compassion, unity, and a renewed commitment to national growth.
Adegbite also dismissed growing concerns and negative predictions about Nigeria’s future, expressing strong confidence in the country’s peace and unity. He reassured attendees that stability would prevail despite current challenges.
The four-day event, themed “A Time of Refreshing in His Presence,” also marked the 38th anniversary of Vineyard Christian Ministries Inc..
In his message, the Presiding Bishop of the ministry, John Osa-Oni, encouraged believers to deepen their spiritual lives by intentionally seeking a closer relationship with God. He stressed that knowing God requires commitment and consistency, not a casual approach.
According to him, remaining in God’s presence brings peace, joy, and divine preservation, even in difficult times, adding that true fulfillment comes from a sustained connection with God.
Also addressing participants, the Coordinator of the Lagos State Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria Women Wing, Josephine Femi-Asiwaju, urged Christians to continually seek God’s presence.
She explained that staying connected to God provides clarity, strength, and comfort, even in moments of weakness, encouraging believers to remain steadfast in faith regardless of life’s challenges.
The conference attracted worshippers and church leaders from across Lagos, reinforcing messages of hope, faith, and spiritual renewal in line with the Easter season.
