Nigerian music star Burna Boy has made history as the first male artist to top Spotify’s newly launched Global Music Video Chart.
The achievement came through ‘Dai Dai,’ his FIFA World Cup song with Colombian singer Shakira, which debuted at No. 1 on the new chart. The feat also makes Burna Boy the first African artist to reach the top of the ranking.
The song has continued its impressive global run, climbing to a new peak of No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week. It is projected to break into the top 10 following Burna Boy and Shakira’s performance during the FIFA World Cup Final halftime show on Sunday.
‘Dai Dai’ is currently the most-streamed music video of 2026 on YouTube, with nearly half a billion views, and has also reached No. 1 on the Apple Music Global Songs Chart.
The song’s success has further strengthened Burna Boy’s global streaming records. He now holds the record as the African artist with the highest number of monthly listeners in Spotify history, with over 53 million monthly listeners, while also becoming the African artist with the most monthly listeners on YouTube Music, surpassing 600 million monthly listeners.
