The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), on Wednesday paid glowing tributes to his Chief of Staff, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, as he clocks 76.

A statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, quoted the President as saying he was proud of Gambari and his accomplishments.

In the statement titled, ‘President Buhari celebrates Prof. Gambari at 76, says he’s a remarkable international civil servant,’ the President described Gambari as “a remarkable public servant who had put his vast experience and knowledge to the service of the world.”

The statement quoted the President as saying, “It’s impossible to interact with Gambari without being impressed by his erudition and colossal experience in his chosen career.

“Having worked with Prof. Gambari during my time as a military Head of State, I am proud to testify that he is one of the most brilliant, dedicated, patient and humble public officials I have ever met.”
