In a recent post making rounds on facebook , Senator Chimaruoke Nnamani in reply to a comment on his Facebook post, have opened up on Chief Jim Nwobodo describing the insinuation that he was handpicked by Chief Jim Nwobodo to become governor of Enugu State as a gratuitous insult.
Replying the commment, he said “between1996 and late 1998, I went through CNC, UNCP and then DPN. DPN won about 4 seats in the House of Assembly then. I defeated Nduka Agu in the PDP primaries at Presidential Hotel. Jim Nwobodo supported Chief Silas Ilo then Chief Richard Nnamani. Chief Jim Nwobodo stepped in to help influence Chief Solomon Lar to protect our nomination”.
Maintaining that that this has been a perennial FALSE narrative which he never bothered to challenge, Senator Nnamani refuted the fact that Chief Jim Nwobodo hand picked him as Governor, adding “That has been a perennial false narrative. I never bordered to challenge. It was a military administration. Those who know are still active. I paid my dues. God blessed my hustle.
“I built the structure, recruited every member across Enugu State. Those who claim credit are entitled to. So, who else was handpicked before me and after me? And why me. He queried.
“I would not leave America and return for hand out. I am an American trained and board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist and feto-maternal medicine specialist. We move to field any day and test. To say that I was hand-picked is a gratuitous insult”, He concluded.
UGAMATV recalls that Senator Nnamani has come under heavy criticism recently for suggesting that Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi have the right to hand pick his successor come 2023. Various sectors of the state have descended heavily on him stressing that it is the constitutional right of the people to choose their leader and vowed to resist any attempt to usurp the rights of the people of Enugu State.
The founding fathers of America narrated in their Federalist papers why they hold the ‘truth to be self-evident that all men are created equal’ and they went on to enshrine it in their constitution some inalienable rights which was reconfirmed by the adoption of universal adult suffrage.
It is clear that his 1999 to 2007 example was predatory, manifesting a poor and jaundiced dangerous importation. His undue appropriation of Ebeanor as the theoretical bases of Enugu State Government operations is a present danger aimed at reminding us of those better forgotten years of tears.
It is clear that we are all increasingly becoming victims of his breach of our rights as enshrined in our laws. His continuing to spread and superintend such perfidy as a sitting Senator who swore to defend the Constitution is the reason this nation is the way it is. Unfortunately, we no longer have statesmen, there was really a country indeed.
