Decomposed Body of 55-Year-Old Man Found in Vehicle at National Assembly Complex

The body of a man has been discovered inside a parked vehicle at the annex gate of the National Assembly complex in Abuja.

The deceased was identified as 55-year-old Gaddafi Iwar, a Tiv man suspected to be a labourer at a construction site within the complex.

He was found lifeless inside a red Peugeot 406 with registration number BWR-577 BF at about 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 7.

According to sources, the body was first evacuated to the National Assembly Clinic for confirmation before being transferred to Asokoro General Hospital. However, the hospital reportedly declined to admit the remains due to advanced decomposition.

Subsequently, members of the Tiv community and youth leaders conveyed the body to Gbawu village, a border town between Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) and Kuje Area Council, where he was buried to prevent a potential health hazard.

The police have since confirmed the incident.
