Awgu, Enugu State — In a remarkable display of unity and commitment to community development, the once-abandoned and inaccessible Awgu High Court has undergone a significant transformation, thanks to the collaborative efforts of the Awgu Egbeleli Development Union and Awgu Youth International.
For years, the court premises remained neglected, posing challenges to lawyers, judges, and litigants. However, recognizing the urgent need for change, these community-based organizations mobilized resources and took bold steps to restore accessibility. With the support of bulldozers and manpower, the road leading to the high court has been cleared and rehabilitated, allowing seamless entry into the court premises.
Speaking on behalf of the stakeholders, Comrade AC Ude, Mayor of Gburugburu Awgu Youth International, commended all parties involved in the successful execution of the project.
“This intervention has not only restored access to the court but has also enhanced security and efficiency within the premises. Judges, lawyers, and court users can now drive directly into the compound instead of parking outside, which significantly improves safety and convenience,” he stated.
The restoration of the Awgu High Court access road stands as a testament to the power of collective action and community-driven development. The initiative has been widely praised by residents, stakeholders, and legal practitioners, who described it as a “new dawn” for justice administration in Awgu.
- With this achievement, the Awgu Egbeleli Development Union, Awgu Youth International, and other key contributors have demonstrated that grassroots collaboration remains a vital tool for fostering progress and improving public infrastructure.
