English Writer and Philosopher Mary Wollstonecraft once postulated that ‘when a prevailing prejudice is attacked, the wise will consider it, and leave the narrow-minded to rail with thoughtless vehemence at innovation’.

True to this phrase, some years ago, the pioneer Founding Deputy State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Enugu State, Com. A.C Ude at a public gathering of APC stalwarts in the state, posited that the All Progressives Congress, Enugu State, should not be turned into a dumping ground of the political irrelevants or political never-do-wells, or individuals, after being politically alienated in their respective political parties, now turn in to the already well-structured All Progressives Congress, Enugu State for their political resuscitation or emancipation.

Just as if he foresaw tomorrow, this advice was postulated even when the likes of the current Factional, politically irrelevant, and stomach infrastructural Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Bar. Ugochukwu Agballa was still wallowing in another party looking for his usual routine meal, joined the party through the back door.

True to this vision by Com. A.C Ude, these political jobbers, to date, have continually failed to add value to the once very vibrant and people-centric party in Enugu State.

Suffice to say that a cursory look at the last general election, these political prostitutes couldn’t win their respective polling booths.
The once very vibrant All Progressives Congress, Enugu State, that produced Political juggernauts like Mr. Osita Okechukwu, Dr. Ben. Nwoye, Sen. Ayogu Eze, to mention, but a few, is now being treated or perceived as a political party without structure and direction.
While nobody is against the admittance of members into the All Progressives Congress, Enugu State, such admittance should be for individuals who are coming to add value and relevance to the party and not individuals who are coming to look for their next source of meal as we currently have.
As we approach the next Electioneering season, it is imperative that we critically examine Peters and Judas in our party and ensure that we do not repeat the mistakes of the past, so that we can all create the tomorrow of our dream for our dearly beloved All Progressives Congress, Enugu State.
