Apapa Customs Rakes in ₦215bn in August via ‘B’Odogwu’ Platform

The Apapa Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced a revenue collection of ₦215 billion for the month of August 2025, generated through the Unified Customs Management System (UCMS), popularly known as B’Odogwu.

Customs Area Controller of the Command, Comptroller Babatunde Olomu, credited the impressive collection to the resilience of officers, growing confidence in the new platform, and continuous improvement in operations despite occasional network challenges.

In a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Superintendent of Customs Tunde Ayagbalo, Comptroller Olomu expressed gratitude to officers and stakeholders for their support, noting that the record collection reflects the increasing trust of importers, exporters, licensed customs agents, and freight forwarders who transact through Apapa, Nigeria’s busiest seaport.

He also commended the Comptroller-General of Customs, Mr. Adewale Adeniyi, for personally engaging with stakeholders to build confidence in the UCMS platform, which he said has significantly enhanced its performance and adoption.

Olomu reassured the trading community that the NCS leadership has directed its ICT/Modernisation Department to provide steady improvements, quickly address technical hitches, and ensure seamless user support.

“Our collection of ₦215 billion using the B’Odogwu platform confirms progress in our ongoing journey to build a dependable system for trade facilitation in Nigeria. This is a collective success, and we remain committed to greater achievements in the months ahead,” Olomu stated.

The Customs boss further expressed optimism that the UCMS platform will not only meet but also surpass user expectations, while continuing to play a crucial role in trade facilitation and Nigeria’s economic growth.
