Gov Alia: Benue Workers’ Welfare Remains My Priority

Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has commended workers in the state for their contributions to governance and development, describing them as vital to the state’s ongoing transformation.

In a press statement issued on Friday to mark the annual Workers’ Day, the governor said the occasion provides an opportunity to celebrate the dedication and importance of workers in both the state and the country.

He noted that Benue workers have made significant contributions to progress across key sectors, aligning with his administration’s seven-point development agenda known as SACHIIP.

The framework focuses on security, agriculture and rural development, commerce and industry, human capital development, infrastructure, ICT and governance.

According to the statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, the governor described workers as “important stakeholders” in implementing policies aimed at improving the lives of citizens and repositioning the state for growth.

Gov. Alia emphasised that workers’ welfare remains a priority for his administration, stating that improved welfare conditions are essential for better performance and productivity.

He assured that the government will continue to implement policies aimed at enhancing workers’ capacity and overall well-being.

He also praised labour unions in the state for their cooperation and support, noting that their engagement has contributed to improved productivity and stability within the workforce.
The governor extended his best wishes to workers across the state, urging them to continue contributing to the development of Benue.
