Anambra family condemns 58-year-old man’s murder

The Nnubia family of Umuezeogu community in the Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State is in a state of mourning following the gruesome murder of one Julius Nnubia, 59.

It was gathered that Julius was murdered three days after he was kidnapped by a gang of gunmen.

UGAMATV gathered that the victim was abducted from his son’s building site around 6.30pm on October 2, 2020, while paying workers on the site in the neighbouring Ubulu-Isiuzor community.

His corpse was said to have been found in Okohia, adjacent the popular Abbot Boys’ Secondary School complex.

It was also gathered that the victim was asked by his son, who resides abroad, to pay the workers on the site.

A source said for the three days that Julius was in the captivity, there were repeated calls to his telephone line, but it indicated that it was not available.

“What we saw was a signal that a dead body was seen on the Okohia Road near Abbot Boys’ Secondary School. When we went there, we saw the Julius’ corpse,” the source added.

When contacted on the telephone, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Haruna Mohammed, said that he was not aware of the incident.
