The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Membership Awareness and Sensitization Committee in Enugu East Senatorial Zone has intensified its grassroots mobilization strategy, holding a strategic meeting on February 14, 2026, to consolidate structures and expand its membership base across the zone.
The high-level meeting was presided over by the Chairman and Coordinator of Enugu East Zone, Engr. Okorie Obinna, who commended Local Government Coordinators for their commitment and turnout. Among those present were Hon. Sunday Eshiokwu (Enugu North Coordinator), alongside coordinators from Enugu East and Enugu West Local Government Areas.
Addressing party leaders, Engr. Okorie underscored the urgency of deepening the party’s presence at the grassroots, directing the immediate constitution of 10-man pulling unit committees in every ward across the senatorial zone. According to him, the move is aimed at accelerating the registration of new members and strengthening the party’s political structures ahead of future engagements.
“The time to expand our base is now. Every ward must be activated, every unit mobilized,” he declared, stressing that seriousness and measurable results would be the benchmark for continued leadership positions. He warned that any official found lacking commitment to the membership and registration exercise would be replaced.
To ensure seamless coordination, the Zone Coordinator provided logistics support to each Local Government Coordinator to convene follow-up meetings and fix dates for expanded consultations. He assured them of his readiness to attend the meetings alongside his executive team at their convenience.
The committee acknowledged the unwavering support of party stakeholders, including Chief Obodeze Ocho, Barr. El Shaddai, Hon. Chikeze Onyia, and Engr. McDonald Okwo, whose contributions were described as instrumental to the party’s growth in the zone.
Engr. Okorie also extended appreciation to the ADC Membership Awareness and Sensitization Committee Chairman, Comrade AC Ude, applauding his leadership, guidance, and steadfast support in repositioning the party for greater political impact.
Local Government Coordinators in attendance included Hon. Sunday Eshiokwu (Enugu North Chairman), Hon. Chinedu Ilo (Enugu North Secretary), Hon. Ngwu Moses (Enugu East Chairman), Hon. Ngwu Dominic (Enugu East Secretary), Hon. Ani Sunday (Enugu South Chairman), Nwobodo Ogbodo John (Enugu South Secretary), Hon. Ugochukwu Chris (Isiuzo Chairman), Hon.
