ADC Enugu Shuts Down Zoning Rumours, Reaffirms Stella Chukwuma’s Chairmanship

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Enugu State has firmly dismissed rumours of internal zoning disputes, declaring that the party remains united, focused, and committed to winning future elections.

In a public notice issued on behalf of the ADC Enugu State Media Team, the National Coordinator of ADC Like-Minds, Comrade AC Ude, reaffirmed that the decision of the party’s State Executive Committee and stakeholders—conveyed by the State Chairman, Comrade Stella Chukwuma—remains valid, constitutional, and binding.

According to the statement, the stakeholders’ meeting held at Universal Hotel resolved that Comrade Stella Chukwuma should continue as the State Chairman of the party, with the chairmanship position retained in the Enugu West zone, while other leadership positions would be zoned accordingly.

“The ADC in Enugu State is united and focused. Our aim is to win elections, and we will not be distracted by purported zoning or no-zoning claims,” the statement read.

The party leadership described as false and misleading any reports suggesting a contrary position, warning that individuals spreading such information are working to destabilize the party.

Comrade Ude further disclosed that the decision of the stakeholders has been duly communicated to the National Chairman of the party and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), stressing that any claims outside the officially recognised resolution are null and void.

In a stern warning, the ADC cautioned individuals parading themselves as local government or ward executives without recognition by the state leadership to desist from such actions, noting that offenders would be reported to security agencies for alleged forgery.

The party also called on members and supporters to remain focused on grassroots mobilisation and strengthening the party’s structure across the state, commending the efforts of the Enugu State Membership Awareness and Sensitisation Committee for its ongoing outreach activities.

Reaffirming confidence in the leadership of Comrade Stella Chukwuma, the ADC urged its supporters to ignore distractions and rally behind the party’s leadership in preparation for future electoral contests.

The statement was jointly signed by Comrade AC Ude, Chairman of the ADC Membership Awareness and Sensitisation Committee, and Comrade Cheka Idoko, Secretary of the committee.
