The Abia State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has dismissed reports claiming that its State Chairman, Don Norman Obinna, has been suspended from the party.
In a press statement signed by the State Publicity Secretary, Chiamaka Ohaja, the party described the publication as false, unauthorized, and deliberately misleading.
According to the statement, there is no factional crisis within the Abia ADC, contrary to the impression being created by the alleged report.
Ohaja reaffirmed Obinna’s position as the duly recognized State Chairman, stressing that only the National Executive Committee (NEC) has the constitutional authority to suspend a state chairman.
She further cautioned those behind the “self-serving propaganda,” warning that they would face sanctions in line with the party’s disciplinary procedures.
“This misleading report is an attempt to destabilize the party and mislead the public. We urge our members and the general public to disregard it in its entirety,” the statement read.
The ADC assured its members of unity within its ranks and restated its commitment to strengthening internal democracy and credible leadership ahead of future political engagements.
