Abia Warriors Capitalize on Errors as Niger Tornadoes Suffer Shock Loss

Niger Tornadoes technical adviser, Majin Mohammed, believes overconfidence was the reason for his team’s defeat to Abia Warriors.

A strike from Sunday Megwo and an own goal from Chibueze Damian condemned Niger Tornadoes to a 2-0 defeat at the Bako Kontagora Stadium, Minna, on Sunday. The loss was their first home defeat of the campaign.

Mohammed said his players were carried away by their last away win in Katsina against Kano Pillars. He admitted that although his team created chances, they failed to convert them.

“First of all, I think we were carried away by the victory against Pillars, we thought we could just ride over Abia Warriors. We had our chances but couldn’t utilise them, and the visitors capitalised on defensive errors and took their chances. That was how we conceded two cheap goals,” Mohammed told Niger Tornadoes media.
