“A Father Betrayed: Enugu Monarch Breaks Silence, Denies Viral Incest Allegation, As Wife, Children Tender Tearful Public Apologies, Admit Claims Were False

His Royal Highness, Igwe Victor Ezekwesili Meniru, EZE DUNU 11 of Egwu Achi Kingdom in Oji River Local Government Area of Enugu State, has publicly debunked a viral social media video accusing him of attempting to sleep with his own daughter—an allegation he described as “a heartbreaking lie pushed out of anger and family misunderstanding.”

The respected monarch, in an exclusive emotional interview with UgamaTV, recounted in detail the events that led to the now-viral footage that has sparked widespread online controversy.

“I was shocked… a private family moment was weaponised against me”

According to Igwe Meniru, the incident began as a minor domestic disagreement on 28 October 2025, which unexpectedly escalated into a family conflict.

He explained that he had a disagreement with his wife—“a normal couple’s misunderstanding”—and the children sided with their mother, leading to a heated moment that should have remained a private family issue.

“Five days ago, while at an event in Abuja, my phone started ringing nonstop. People said my video was all over the Internet. I was shocked. I had no idea an old, private family moment—recorded months ago—was released to the world.”

The monarch alleged that his son, Prince Arnold Meniru, secretly sent the video to a cousin of his who “has not been in good terms” with him, from where it was further circulated.

He also expressed disappointment at one Mr. Okey Nkpoma, a close associate who had previously praised him publicly, yet still reposted the incriminating video without seeking clarification.

“It was pure betrayal,” he said. “Someone who once commended me for supporting others turned around to circulate this falsehood.”

Family Tend Apologies: “Daddy never attempted anything like that. It was anger that misled us.”

In a dramatic turn, the monarch’s wife and children have publicly apologized in a new video, confessing that the allegations were made in anger and frustration, and had no basis in reality.

Igwe’s wife, Lolo Meniru, took full responsibility:

“As the mother of the house, I take the blame. I allowed a small issue to escalate. Please forgive me. It is all my fault.”

His daughter, Princess Nnenna Meniru, now a lawyer, absolved her father completely:

“My dad has never in my life attempted anything inappropriate with me. My younger brother spoke out of anger. Yes, we had family issues like every family, but we let emotions ruin everything. Please forgive us.”

His son Prince Arnold, who recorded the viral footage, broke down expressing deep remorse:

“I am very, very sorry for the damage I have done to my dad. The devil pushed me to lie. He gave me everything—education, love, opportunities. Please help me beg him to forgive me.”

Another son, Prince Jeffrey, currently studying at the University of Bristol, and younger sibling Prince Brooklyn, have also joined in appealing for their father’s forgiveness.

A Father’s Pain: “These are my children. I cannot disown them.”

Despite his humiliation and the global embarrassment caused by the viral allegation, the monarch maintained that he still loves his children and cannot cast them away.

“Despite everything, these are my children. I cannot disown them. They now realize the damage they caused. They never imagined their actions would spread worldwide.”

Igwe’s Full Account: 16 Years of Peace, Destroyed by a Moment of Anger

The monarch narrated that for 16 years on the throne, his home had been peaceful. He recounted the successes of his children—educated in the UK, supported by him, and gifted luxury items including a G-Wagon, a Hyundai, and a gold Rolex watch to mark their milestones.

He described how a simple confrontation about household rules spiraled when his daughter dismissed the domestic staff and his son seized his phone. During the scuffle at the gate, he fell, and his son recorded him.

“That was the video. There was no incest attempt, no such thing. Just a father trying to regain order in his house.”

“My image has been globally tarnished over a lie” — Igwe

The monarch lamented the emotional and reputational trauma he has suffered.

“To accuse me of attempting to sleep with my daughter is shocking, false, and deeply hurtful. My image has been destroyed globally over a complete lie.”

Yet, despite it all, he expressed hope for reconciliation:

“I pray that God helps me find forgiveness in my heart.”

PUBLIC SYMPATHY RISING

Following the release of the apology video and the monarch’s emotional narration, many community members and online commenters have begun expressing sympathy for him, calling for calm and urging the public not to weaponize private family disputes.
