68-Year-Old Woman Arrested for Flogging 22-Year-Old to Death in Abia

The Abia State Police Command has arrested Mrs. Victoria Madubuko, 68, for allegedly flogging 22-year-old Nnenna Eke to death in Ndiambe Ozuitem, Bende Local Government Area of the state.

According to police sources, Madubuko beat the young woman with a native cane known as “Okpete” after an altercation. The reason for the attack has not yet been disclosed.

Commissioner of Police Danladi Isa, briefing journalists at the command headquarters in Umuahia, said Nnenna Eke fell ill after the assault and was rushed to Tochi Hospital, where doctors confirmed her dead. The corpse has been deposited at a mortuary in Akaelu, Bende LGA.

The suspect is in police custody while the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) continues investigations.

 

In a separate case, police reported that 31-year-old Chinonso Chukwuemeka of Abayi village was stabbed in the chest by Chimaobi Nwanne during a dispute over a business transaction.

Chukwuemeka was rushed to Akachukwu Hospital, Eastern Ngwa, where he was pronounced dead.

The suspect fled to Umuezenta Mbasi village but was later arrested by officers from Eastern Ngwa Divisional Headquarters. Investigation into the killing is also ongoing.
