APC Leaders Pledge Unwavering Loyalty to Wike Ahead of 2027 Polls

The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State has said it will abide by whatever instructions the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, gives ahead of the 2027 elections.

The party’s chairman, Rejoice Otobo, disclosed this during Wike’s ‘thank you’ visit to the area on Sunday.

He said the people would stand by Wike because of what he had done for them.

“We await instructions from you on the 2027 elections concerning Rivers State. Wherever you ask us to go, there we shall go; whatever you ask us to do is what we will do,” Otobo said.

He added, “All the good and the bad people of the LGA have decided that where you want us to go is where we will go.”

Also speaking, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairman in the area, Ikechukwu Obuzor, pledged total loyalty to Wike, saying he had given the people hope.

“I want to say that we are standing firm with you. Wherever you go, we will go. Be rest assured, come 2027, Ahoada West will deliver the needed results for you,” he said.

Earlier, the chairman of Ahoada Local Government Council, Chita Eugene, described Wike as the political field marshal of the South-South and praised him for attracting major development to Rivers State.

According to him, the visit was more than a thank-you visit, describing it as “a celebration of effective leadership and public service”.

The House of Representatives member for Ahoada West/Ogba-Egbema/Ndoni Federal Constituency, Victor Obuzor, also said Wike deserved support because of his achievements in the area and his impact as a former governor.

In the same vein, the Seyi Tinubu Support Group, led by Chidi Amadi, pledged support for Wike and the re-election of President Bola Tinubu.

In his remarks, Wike said he visited to thank the people for their strong support for him and Tinubu during the 2023 elections.

He said Rivers State was once respected nationwide for its stance on good governance until poor leadership set in.

Wike, who insisted that Governor Siminalayi Fubara should not get a second term, said the state’s political glory must be restored in 2027.

“This will be done by correcting the leadership mistake in the state in 2027,” he said.

“Already, Rivers State is being respected because of what we are doing in FCT. We need a leader we can trust to drive our dear state to glory and progress.”
