2027: Tinubu, APC Headed for Landslide Victory — Deputy Senate President Barau

Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) are firmly on course for a sweeping victory in the 2027 general elections, citing the administration’s performance and rising party unity as key drivers.

Speaking over the weekend at the APC Northwest Zonal Meeting hosted by Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, Barau urged party stakeholders to remain united and steadfast in their support for the President.

“By 2027, we will record a landslide victory, Insha’Allah,” Barau said. “We must continue working together, supporting the President, and consolidating our efforts for the good of the party and the country.”

He attributed the growing wave of defections from opposition parties to the APC to President Tinubu’s strides in addressing Nigeria’s security and economic challenges.

“The surge in opposition members joining the APC isn’t a coincidence,” Barau noted. “It’s a direct result of President Tinubu’s leadership and the tangible progress being made under his administration. Security has vastly improved, especially in the Northwest. Places like Birnin Gwari and parts of the Abuja-Kaduna corridor, once plagued by insecurity, are now accessible.”

While acknowledging that Nigeria’s challenges remain, the Deputy Senate President emphasized that the Tinubu administration is on the right trajectory.

“We’re not where we want to be yet, but it’s clear that we’re making significant progress. The President is focused and working hard to restore peace and stability, especially in the North,” he added.

Barau also praised APC governors for their commitment to grassroots development, saying their efforts have strengthened the party’s popularity and relevance across the country.

He commended APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, for fostering internal cohesion and providing strategic direction, calling for continued collaboration among party leaders.

“With the momentum we’ve built and the unity we now enjoy, it feels like no other political party exists — especially in the Northwest,” Barau said. “Let’s stay focused and determined to deliver overwhelming victory in 2027.”
