A man identified as Ogbonna, popularly known as “Mourinho,” has been arrested for allegedly killing his ex-girlfriend, Chisom Ayogu, in Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State.

 

Chisom, a native of Amufie in Igbo-Eze North LGA, reportedly visited Ogbonna at his residence on New Anglican Road, Nsukka, to inform him about her upcoming wedding. However, the visit turned fatal after a heated argument broke out between the two.

 

Sources revealed that during the confrontation, Ogbonna allegedly assaulted Chisom severely. By the time help arrived, she was already unconscious.

 

“She was rushed to a nearby hospital, but the doctors confirmed her dead on arrival,” a resident who spoke on condition of anonymity told reporters.

 

Ogbonna, who hails from Igogoro—also in Igbo-Eze North LGA—has since been taken into custody by the police. Authorities have yet to release an official statement regarding the motive behind the assault or the progress of the investigation.
