The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for the 2027 Ebonyi State election, Chief Ifeanyi-Chukwuma Odii, has dismissed allegations that he is sponsoring cyberbullying campaigns against the state government.
Speaking to journalists in Abakaliki on Tuesday, Odii, popularly known as AnyiChuks, described the claims made by the member representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency, Chinedu Ogah, as baseless and an attempt to silence legitimate criticism of government.
He argued that holding elected officials accountable is a constitutional right, insisting that asking questions about governance and the use of public funds should not be labelled as cyberbullying or cyberstalking.
Odii also denied claims that he was influencing officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to register underage voters, describing the allegation as false, defamatory and unsupported by any evidence.
He challenged Ogah to present any proof of wrongdoing to the appropriate security agencies instead of making what he called unfounded accusations in the media.
The PDP governorship hopeful vowed to continue speaking out on issues affecting the state, saying he would criticise the government where necessary and commend it for good performance. He stressed that transparency, accountability and responsible opposition remain essential to democratic governance, adding that he would not be intimidated into silence ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
