₦5,000 Membership Card Allegation: ADC Like-Minds Fires Back, Threatens Legal Action Over “Malicious Smear Campaign”

The National Coordinator of ADC Like-Minds, Comrade AC Ude, has strongly condemned what he described as a “malicious and baseless” allegation claiming that the Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Enugu State, Comrade Stella Chukuma, is selling party membership cards for ₦5,000.

In a statement issued on Saturday, Comrade Ude dismissed the claim as a deliberate fabrication designed to tarnish the image of the party leadership and destabilise the growing influence of the ADC in Enugu State.

“This allegation is a reckless falsehood, carefully orchestrated to damage the reputation of our respected State Chairman and undermine the steady progress of the ADC,” he said.

He noted that the recent surge in the party’s popularity and visibility in Enugu State has attracted hostility from political opponents and detractors threatened by ADC’s rising profile.

Comrade Ude recalled the massive public reception accorded Comrade Stella Chukuma at Akanu Ibiam International Airport during her recent arrival, describing it as a clear demonstration of the party’s growing acceptance and strength in the state.

According to him, the alleged misinformation is part of a broader campaign to distract the party and erode public confidence in its leadership.

He therefore called on party members, supporters, and the general public to disregard the claim, stressing that ADC remains committed to transparency, inclusiveness, and ethical political practices.

“We challenge those behind this propaganda to present credible evidence to support their claims. Failure to do so will compel us to seek legal redress,” Comrade Ude warned.

He reaffirmed the resolve of ADC Like-Minds to defend the integrity of the party and its leadership, adding that the ADC will continue to consolidate its structures and expand its political footprint in Enugu State.

“Our commitment to building a strong, credible, and people-driven political party remains unshaken,” he concluded.
