Women AfroBasket: Nigerian women basketball team defeat Rwanda in opening game

Nigeria’s D’Tigress began their AfroBasket Women’s title defence with a commanding 92 to 45 victory over Rwanda in their opening group game in Côte d’Ivoire.

The reigning champions, who have won the last four editions of the tournament, asserted their dominance from the start, overwhelming their Rwandan opponents with superior play and tactical control.

By halftime, D’Tigress had built a solid 45 to 25 lead, showcasing their defensive strength and offensive fluidity.

Their momentum carried into the third quarter, widening the margin to 71 to 37 and effectively extinguishing any hopes of a Rwandan comeback.

In the final quarter, the Nigerian side maintained their intensity and finished the match with an emphatic 92 to 45 scoreline, sending a strong message to other contenders in the tournament.
