Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, on Saturday used Hilda Baci’s world jollof festival triumph to throw playful jabs at three prominent Nigerian politicians.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Olayinka teased former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, ex-Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi, and media mogul Dele Momodu, referencing Baci’s record-breaking feat.
Recall that Amaechi recently criticised President Bola Tinubu over Nigeria’s economic hardship, declaring that both he and Nigerians are hungry, a remark that previously drew sharp responses from Wike and Olayinka.
“Jollof Rice is ready in Lagos, where is Rotimi Amaechi? Make nobody tell us he is hungry again ooo.
Hilda Baci will still explain how she cooked that plenty Jollof Rice and didn’t invite Egbon Dele Momodu. Ko nice nah.
Hilda Baci wan cook plenty Jollof Rice like that, she no invite Mr one shoe alias Agbotikuyo, Nija’s number one events planner and server of food. Ko nice nah.”
Celebrity chef Hilda Baci had on Friday cooked 200 bags of rice in a massive pot at the World Jollof Festival in Lagos, earning the Guinness World Record for the largest pot of Jollof Rice.
Olayinka’s remarks quickly stirred reactions online, blending political satire with Baci’s culinary milestone.
