We’ll implement report on Plateau killings, task force vows

A joint committee set up by troops of Operation Safe Haven in Plateau State to find lasting solution to the incessant attacks and loss of lives and property in the communities on Saturday submitted its reports

The 36-man committee headed by Prince Robert Ashi was set up on September 11, 2021 by the Commander of Operation Safe Haven, Major General Ibrahim Ali.

Receiving the committee’s report at the Command’s headquarters in Jos on Saturday, Ali, who is also the General Officer Commanding 3 Division, Nigeria Army, pledged to carry out a full implementation of the recommendations of the committee in order to achieve lasting peace in the Plateau and its environs.

A statement issued after the event by the Military Information Officer of the task force,Major Ishaku Takwa, said, “The Commander stated that the report would assist Operation SAFE Haven, Plateau State Government and other security agencies in achieving the desired peace on the Plateau.

“He noted that OPSH under his command has developed robust and positive non-kinetic strategies geared towards ending hostilities and promoting peaceful co-existence among people living in the state.”
