Uzodinma’s two years, era of bloodshed, looting, alleges – PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party, Imo State chapter, has said the state has completely collapsed under Governor Hope Uzodinma.

The party described the two years of Uzodinma as “years of desperate usurpation, bloodshed, treasury looting, starvation and hopelessness.”

In a statement issued Monday by the state Publicity Secretary, Emenike Mmeregini, the opposition party described Uzodinma’s government as an illegitimate regime, adding that it had abdicated the primary obligation of the government as prescribed by the Constitution.

Mmeregini accused the administration of politicising an unfortunate security situation in the state, which had continued to claim innocent lives daily.

“Today, bandits, terrorists, cannibals, kidnappers and unknown gunmen are almost overrunning the state,” he stated.

The PDP described as curious Uzodinma’s failure to refute a very weighty allegation by the senator representing his senatorial district, Rochas Okorocha, who accused him of being the mastermind of a deadly hit squad.

The party expressed regrets that Uzodinma suspended and summarily dismantled all the programmes, which the PDP administration painstakingly put in place in all sectors.

Mmeregini said,” Our PDP-led government commenced the Treasury Single Account, autonomy for local government, Technical and skills development colleges, automated payment system for prompt payment of salaries and pensions, agricultural revolution,  infrastructural revolution, civil service reform, the revival of ISOPADEC, technology and ICT development, and qualitative free education etc.”

He accused the governor of engaging in a borrowing spree, which had placed Imo as the most indebted state in the South-East.

The State Commissioner for Information, Declan Emelumba, did not take his calls as of the time of filing this report.
