Unpaid Bills: Super Eagles Coach Chelle Awaits Two Months’ Salary Ahead of AFCON

Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle is reportedly still waiting to receive his salary for the last two months, with the 2025 AFCON fast approaching.

 

Recall that Eric Chelle is on a monthly salary of $55,000, and he is also responsible for the salaries of his backroom staff.

 

The payment has been held up since last month’s 2026 World Cup Playoffs in Morocco.

Chelle handled the last two World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Benin Republic, as well as the World Cup playoff matches against Gabon and DR Congo, without receiving payment.

 

This week, the coach met with the NFF technical committee in Abuja to discuss plans for the AFCON in Morocco, where Nigeria is drawn against Tunisia, Tanzania, and Uganda in the first round.
