TWO COUNCILS IN KATSINA REJOICE AS GOVERNOR LIFTS BAN ON LOCKDOWN

Governor Aminu Bello Masari on Friday directed the lifting of the lockdown in Mani and Safana local government areas of Katsina State.

The lockdown was imposed on the two councils in April, The UGAMATV reports.

A statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Mustapha Inuwa, said the lockdown was lifted after a report from stakeholders that “no new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the two councils”.

Inuwa also said, “the cases of the virus earlier reported in the councils have fully recovered.”

The remaining councils under lockdowns in the state are Ingawa, Katsina, Daura, Rimi, Malumfashi, Batagarawa, DutsinmaJibia, Matazu, Musawa, and Kankia.

Katsina state currently has no fewer than 205 cases of COVID-19 with 10 deaths recorded.
