Troops Successfully Push Back ISWAP Attack in Borno State

Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have repelled an attack by suspected ISWAP terrorists in Bita, Borno State, following a fierce overnight clash.

According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the assault began around 1:09 a.m. on Saturday, when insurgents launched a coordinated attack on the 26 Task Force Brigade stationed in the Bita area.

The attackers attempted to overwhelm the troops but were met with determined resistance, resulting in a sustained gun battle.

In a decisive operation, gallant troops of Operation Hadin Kai launched simultaneous land and air assaults on terrorist positions in Bita in the early hours,” a security source said.

The coordinated offensive combined ground engagements with aerial strikes and surveillance, forcing the insurgents to retreat to their enclaves.

Following the withdrawal, troops launched exploitation operations to pursue fleeing terrorists and prevent them from regrouping.
