
It was a day of gladness and joy as Mr. Francis Obasi, the CEO of Villa Toscana hotel and the team of Toscana Sports Club paid off accumulated medical bills of patients at home National Orthopedic Hospital Enugu.
The event which took place on the 23rd of December, 2021 where they visited patients at the accident and emergency ward, spinal injury ward, special case ward and other wards as they went round visiting the patients while giving words of encouragement to the patients and their family members.

Mr. Francis Obasi who is also the BOT chairman of Toscana Sports Club while speaking with UGAMATV revealed that the outreach have been holding every Christmas period for the past five years, adding that the previous one was done at Park lane hospital, Enugu.
“When God is blesses you, you should equally be able to extend the blessing to others and as the blessing of God keeps Increasing those you reach out to should equally Increase, Mr Obasi said.

Adding that they paid bills for 25 patients this year, he said “Reaching out to 25 patients is what this year unfolded to us, and we will do more than this next year.
Speaking on his inspiration, “my motivation for doing this every year is to simply clean the tears on the face of people and make people happy.
“Other Social Clubs should see what we are doing and join the envoy because it’s a normal thing. When People are crying, you should try to console them which is part of the christmas Spirit”, Mr Obasi said.

The Vice Chairman of Toscana Sports Club Mr. Chiedozie Ejeabasi urged other Social Clubs to join the Envoy of Reaching out to those at the Hospital.
Dr. Prince Rowland Okam, a member of the club revealed that the yearly charitable act which was enacted in the yearly activity of the club for December 23 of every year, saying “we go for hospital visitation which has become a Norm for us.
“As the Treasurer of the Club I make zealous effort to get the resources available before the visitation day. It is not only buying cars and houses worth of millions but let us remember the poor among us especially those who can’t afford good meals, motherless babies homes, those in old homes should be remembered this season and provided for”, he said.

Speaking with some of the patients who were beneficiaries of the outreach, they couldn’t hold back their excitement as they thanked the club members.
Miss Chisom ifeanyichukwu who was scheduled for a Surgery last week but couldn’t go because of financial challenge said “I am very happy for this gift. Its a huge relief for my family and I thank Toscana Sports Club for putting a Smile on my face before Christmas”.

Mr. Savior Ezerem, A Civil Servant whose 3 Years Old Son’s Leg was Broken while playing with Others at The Accident and Emergency Ward thanked the club adding that “am very happy and Highly impressed that irrespective of the situation in the country Some people still make out time to Visit those in the Hospital. Please continue with the Good Work and God will never cease from blessing the Club”, he said concluding.
