President Bola Tinubu has accused the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, of leaving behind economic challenges during his time as Nigeria’s Vice President.

Speaking during a meeting with members of the Nigerian Diaspora Medical Association and North-East stakeholders endorsing Vice President Kashim Shettima for renomination, Tinubu alleged that Atiku oversaw the privatisation of government investments without adequately addressing pension obligations.

According to the President, his administration is now working to settle outstanding pension liabilities and restore stability to the economy.

Tinubu also stressed the need for national unity in tackling terrorism, banditry and other security challenges, noting that Nigerians desire economic stability and improved social welfare.

He said his government remains committed to addressing the country’s challenges while correcting what he described as the shortcomings of previous administrations.
