Tinubu Appoints Adeyemi Olumode as New Controller-General of Federal Fire Service

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Adeyemi Olumode as the new Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service (FFS).

The announcement was made on Wednesday by Retired Major-General Abdulmalik Jubril, Secretary to the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB). He revealed that Olumode’s appointment comes as a result of the upcoming retirement of the current Controller-General, Abdulganiyu Jaji, who will step down on August 13 after reaching the mandatory retirement age of 60.

Jubril praised Jaji’s dedication and commitment throughout his service and noted that Olumode is well-qualified for the top position. He stated that the new CG has successfully completed all required in-service training, command courses, and other relevant programs both locally and internationally.

Olumode began his career with the FCT Fire Service before transferring to the Federal Fire Service, rising through the ranks to become Deputy Controller-General in charge of the Human Resource Directorate at the Service Headquarters.

He is also a member and fellow of several professional bodies, including the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), the Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria, the Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria, and the Chartered Institute of Treasury Management of Nigeria.
