Three Arrested in Oyo State: One for Alleged Human Part Possession, Two for Armed Robbery

 

The Police in Oyo State have arrested three suspects in connection with the unlawful possession of human parts as well as armed robbery.

The command noted that one suspect was arrested in connection with possession of suspected human parts while two people were arrested in connection with armed robbery.

The command disclosed this in a statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade and made available to newsmen on Saturday.

Ayanlade said the three suspects arrested in Oyo and Ibadan respectively, are currently in police custody.

He disclosed that the suspects were arrested following credible information on their nefarious activities.

One suspect, Garuba Aminu was arrested for unlawful possession of a suspected human part on 20th February, 2026 at about 8:00 a.m, disguised as a scavenger in the commercial Oroki area of Oyo.

The two other suspects identified as Elijah Teejay and Ottu Emmanuel were arrested at Elebu area of Ibadan. Two (2) toy pistols and some illicit drugs, were recovered from them and secured as exhibits for investigation.

The statement read, “Oyo State Police command wishes to inform the general public of the arrest of one Garuba Aminu, ‘M’, aged 20 years, for unlawful possession of a suspected human part. On 20th February, 2026 at about 8:00 a.m., the suspect, who disguised as a scavenger at the Commercial Oroki area of Oyo, was strongly suspected by vigilant members of the community due to his strange movements and conduct.

“Upon receipt of the report, a Police joint patrol team, in collaboration with other security partners, swiftly rushed to the scene where an angry mob had gathered with intent to lynch the suspect.

“The suspect has since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for discreet and thorough investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident.

“The Oyo State Police Command wishes to inform the public of a successful operation following credible intelligence received from vigilant citizens regarding the activities of hoodlums who allegedly rob unsuspecting members of the public along Elebu-Oja, off Alao-Akala Expressway, Ibadan.

“During the patrol, two suspects identified as Elijah Teejay ‘M’, 21 years, and Ottu Emmanuel ‘M’, 33 years, were arrested. A search conducted on their person and belongings led to the recovery of two (2) toy pistols and some illicit drugs, which were immediately secured as exhibits for investigation. The swift response of the operatives prevented the potential escalation of criminal activity and safeguarded the community.

“Upon interrogation, the suspects confessed to multiple acts of robbery along the aforementioned axis and other locations within and outside Oyo State”.
