THE THUNDEROUS ENDORSEMENT RALLY OF PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU AND GOVERNOR PETER NDUBISI MBAH BY ENUGU WEST SENATORIAL ZONE

 

 

 

The Enugu West Senatorial Zone stood still on the 18th of April, 2026, as it witnessed a historic, electrifying, and overwhelmingly attended rally organized in honour of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR), and the Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency Barr. Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah.

 

The rally, described by many as both hilarious in spirit and thunderous in impact, brought together over 12,000 enthusiastic party faithfuls drawn from the five Local Government Areas that make up the zone—Aninri, Awgu, Ezeagu, Oji-River, and Udi. The massive turnout reflected a unified voice of endorsement as the people unanimously declared their unwavering support for Governor Mbah’s second term bid, echoing the resounding slogan: “One good term deserves another.”

 

The event attracted an array of distinguished personalities and political heavyweights, including former Chief of Naval Staff Rtd and also Former Governor of Old Eastern States Real Admiral Alison Madueke, former Minister of State Defence, Hon. Mrs Fidelia Njeze; former Senate President, Sen. Ken Nnamani; former Minister of Power, Ven. Prof. Chinedu Nebo. former military Governor of Gombe State, Group Captain Joe Orji (Rtd), former Deputy Governor Enugu State Hon. Mrs Cecilia Ezeilo, HRH Igwe Amb. Lawrence Agubuzu, Former state Chairman Enugu State Traditional rulers council, Secretary to Enugu State Government, Prof Chidiebere Onyia, Senator Ben Collins Ndu Co Chairman Central organizing Committee Enugu West Rally , Chief Barr. Hon. Ofor Chukwuegbo, ALGON Chairman, Hon. Sydney Okehukwu Edeh and council Chairmen, Rt. Hon. Cornelus Nnaji, Chairman Enugu West traditional Rulers’ Council, HRH Igwe Godwin Ndubueze Madu (JP), Rt. Hon Chima Obieze and other members of Enugu state house of Assembly , Chief John Nwonye Secretary Central planning Committee, Former National Secretary of PDP, Rt. Hon. SKE Udeokoye, former Chief of Staff Govt house, Rt. Hon. FSA Uzo and the Senator representing Enugu West Senatorial Zone, Sen. Osita Ngwu, alongside numerous other dignitaries, traditional rulers and stakeholders.

 

In a series of goodwill messages, prominent stakeholders including Hon. Uche Okolo, Dr. C.O.C. Egumgbe, Rt. Hon. Uche Ugwu, Hon. Chief Ozo Obodugo, Hon. Basil Ojengwa, Hon. Lloyd Ike Ekweremmadu Jnr., Hon. Barr. Ugo Agballa, and HRH Igwe Godwin Ndubeze poured encomiums on the Governor. They commended his transformative leadership, particularly highlighting his deliberate inclusion of youths in governance and the visible developmental strides across Enugu West. They further assured the Governor of their total and unflinching support ahead of the 2027 general elections, declaring that the zone would not only replicate but surpass its previous electoral victories.

 

In a detailed account of achievements, the Chief of Staff, Barr. Victor Udeh, outlined monumental infrastructural developments executed under Governor Mbah’s administration in the zone. These include the construction of 810 kilometers of roads, 1,782 classrooms, 81 ICT centers, 81 computer laboratories, and 81 science laboratories, among numerous other completed and ongoing projects. He described the Governor as a man of integrity who has fulfilled his campaign promises, stressing that there exists a strong bond of commitment and shared destiny between the Governor and the people of Enugu West.

 

The APC State Chairman, Dr. Martin Chukwunweike (Ozoigbondu) , reaffirmed his loyalty to the party, the President, and the Governor. He praised Governor Mbah for effectively connecting Enugu State to the centre and expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for appointing sons and daughters of the state into key national positions. He further emphasized that since 1999, governors in the state have traditionally secured second terms, adding that Governor Mbah’s outstanding performance makes his re-election not only justified but inevitable.

 

In a remarkable moment of political maturity, Hon. Ugo Agballa admitted that although he campaigned against Governor Mbah in the 2023 elections, however, the Governor’s sterling performance has won his admiration and support. He further pledged discipleship for HE the Governor and his full commitment to ensuring a landslide victory for the Governor in 2027.

 

Adding to the chorus of endorsements, the APC Deputy National Chairman (South), Hon. Dr. Ben Nwoye, described Governor Mbah as a man of dignity, integrity, and tireless dedication to service.

 

The high point of the rally came during the formal endorsement, when Senator Osita Ngwu called on the massive crowd to affirm their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Peter Ndubisi Mbah as their sole candidates for the 2027 general elections to return for second term in their respective Offices. The response was instantaneous and overwhelming, as the arena erupted in a thunderous and unanimous “Yes,” marking the official endorsement of both leaders which was crowned with the presentation of a 100 million naira cheque to the Governor by the stakeholders of Enugu West Senatorial Zone to purchase his 2027 Governorship form, marking the beginning of their heartfelt support as the endorsement depicts.

 

In his response, Governor Peter Ndubisi Mbah described the rally as epical, massive, grand, and legendary. He stated that Enugu West had etched its name in history through this remarkable show of unity and support, which he described as a demonstration of the enduring “Wawa spirit.” He praised the zone for aligning with the ideals of development, equity, justice, and progress in the 2023 elections—values he said have propelled the state to new heights.

The Governor assured the people that his administration remains committed to fully delivering on all campaign promises and even surpassing expectations. He expressed deep appreciation for their overwhelming support and confidence in his leadership.

The event concluded on a high note with a vote of thanks delivered by Hon. SKE Ude-Okoye, bringing to a close a truly historic and defining moment in the political landscape of Enugu State.
