Teenage Robber Steals Mobile Phones From Housewife, Clubs Owner To Death For Recognising Him In Kano

A teenager identified as Abdulsamad Suleiman has allegedly clubbed a housewife to death after robbing her of three mobile phones in Kano, Northwest Nigeria.

Eighteen-year-old Suleiman reportedly killed his victim by smashing her head in repeatedly with a pestle, after suspecting she had recognized him.

UGAMATV learnt that the incident happened in the Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano State, according to the husband of the deceased person, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

The Kano State Police Command has confirmed its operatives have arrested the 18-year-old after a report by the victim’s husband.

The spokesperson for the police in the state, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa said the suspect was in police custody.

He said, “The suspect, identified as Abdulsamad Suleiman, has confessed to the police that he entered the woman’s room, found her in bed and carted away three phones.

“As he turned to leave the scene, he suspected that the woman had identified him, so he picked up a pestle and hit her on the head. He also hit her two children and then ran away with the phones.

“Her husband, who returned to find his wife dead and his children injured, rushed to report the matter to the police.”

Investigation revealed that Suleiman had sold two of the phones for N12,000 and given the third one to his 17-year-old friend, one Mu’azzam Lawan.

Police further disclosed that Lawan has also been arrested; having also sold the phone for N2,000.
