Suspected thief hides inside bank ceiling and allegedly attempts to hack systems after all staff closed for the day (video)

A commercial bank branch in Lagos experienced panic after a suspected intruder entered through the restroom and spent the night hidden inside the ceiling.

Witnesses claim that the suspect entered the bank during business hours, silently locked himself in the restroom, crawled into the ceiling, and waited until all employees had left and business had closed.

When the staff arrived the following day, they discovered that the door was inexplicably locked from the inside. They forced it open and found the man trying to tamper with bank systems.

Official statements from the bank authorities have not yet been made, but several videos that have gone viral show the man being mistreated after being apprehended.

The suspect, who claimed to have been the only person present for the operation, could be heard pleading for forgiveness in the video.
