The police in the FCT police command have arrested 12 suspects in connection with the robbery incident that claimed the life of Arise TV reporter, Sommie Maduagwu.
One of the suspects, Sani Sirajo, the driver of the gang said while the robbers carried out the attack, he was seated in his car and that was where he spotted Somto hanging from the balcony. He said he ran upstairs to try to hold her from falling off the three-storey building but that her weight was quite overwhelming for him.
Another suspect, Shamsudeen Hassan confessed that he shot the security guard when he attempted to prevent them from gaining access to the apartment.
Shamsudeen further confessed that he drove the white Honda CR-V jeep out of the apartment after the operation. Four suspects admitted that they each received N200,000 from the proceeds of the crime.
