A wave of renewed confidence has swept through the African Democratic Congress (ADC) following a decisive Supreme Court ruling affirming the leadership of David Mark as the party’s authentic National Chairman.
The judgment, widely described as a defining moment in the party’s internal history, also reaffirmed the legitimacy of the National Working Committee (NWC), bringing an end to prolonged leadership disputes and uncertainty within the party’s ranks.
Reacting to the development, the National Coordinator of ADC Like Minds, Comrade AC Ude, hailed the ruling as more than a legal triumph, emphasizing its significance for party unity and democratic integrity. He noted that the apex court’s decision has restored clarity, strengthened internal democracy, and positioned the party for a more coordinated national agenda.
Ude further commended the leadership style of Senator Mark and the National Secretary, Rauf Aregbesola, attributing their victory to steadfast commitment to due process and institutional order. According to him, their experience and composure have proven critical at a time when the party seeks stability and direction.
Beyond the national outlook, the ruling has also energized party faithful in Enugu State, where the emergence of retired General Chris Eze as State Chairman has been described as a complementary victory. The alignment of leadership at both national and state levels, stakeholders say, signals a strategic turning point for the ADC in the region.
Party members in Enugu have been urged to capitalize on the momentum by strengthening grassroots structures across the 17 local government areas and over 260 wards. Observers note that the renewed unity could enhance the party’s mobilization capacity ahead of future political contests.
With the legal battles now settled, attention is shifting to consolidation and expansion. Political analysts believe the ADC’s ability to harness this moment of cohesion will determine its relevance in Nigeria’s evolving political landscape.
As celebrations continue among party loyalists, the message from leadership remains clear: the time for rebuilding, organizing, and advancing a unified vision for the country has begun.
