Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye wins Udinese Player of the season award

Super Eagles goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye has been named Udinese’s Player of the Season following an outstanding campaign with the Serie A club. The Nigerian goalkeeper earned the recognition for his consistent and impressive performances for the Zebras throughout the season.

Okoye missed the opening two months of the campaign after being suspended over an alleged match-fixing scandal. However, the shot-stopper bounced back strongly to reclaim the club’s number one position. He delivered a series of standout displays, particularly against Italian giants Juventus and AC Milan.

The 26-year-old kept 10 clean sheets in 29 league appearances for Udinese this season. Okoye has also been shortlisted for the Serie A Player of the Month award for May.
