A Federal High Court in Owerri, Imo State, on Tuesday struck out a suit challenging the suspension of seven lawmakers of the state house of Assembly.

The presiding justice, Ada Onyetenu, struck out the case with suit Number FHC/OW/CS/52/2021.

Counsel for the suspended lawmakers, Kingdom Okere, told our correspondent that the suit was struck out to enable his clients and the state house of Assembly to resolve the impasse internally.

Okere said , “I filled a motion of discontinuation of the matter. This is to enable my clients settle their differences in consonance with the House rules.”

One of the affected lawmakers, Onyemachi Njoku (Ihitte Uboma) also told our correspondent that the disconnection of the matter was to enable them resolve the suspension issue with the Assembly.
