A male student of Nnamdi Azikiwe University has been hospitalised with burns after boiling water was poured on him.

 

According to students who spoke to LIB, a female student suspected the male student of s£xually abusing her while she was asleep, so she attacked him with scalding, hot water, despite his insistence that he was not the one who abused her.

 

A student who lives in the off-campus lodge where the incident occured said they heard screams at about 2am on February 21 and rushed out to find a female student accusing a male student of touching her bre@st while she slept in her room.

 

The female student had complained that someone enters her room to fondle her bre@sts when she’s asleep.

 

On the fateful day, the female student said she was roused from sleep by someone touching her body again. When she woke up, she said she saw someone, wearing only shorts, run out of her room. She went out of her room and saw her female roommate who was outside to avoid the heat inside. She asked her roommate if she touched her and she said she didn’t.

 

The female student walked further down and saw a male lodge mate named John sitting on the stairs. He was topless and wore only shorts due to the heat.

 

The female student asked John, a 300-level student, if he came into her room to touch her while she slept. John got upset and asked why she would accuse him of such. He added that it was not the first time she had accused him of something damning.

 

This led to a verbal altercation between both of them and lodge mates gathered as they argued into the night.

 

The female student retreated to her room after a while and everyone thought it was over until they heard John scream.

 

A student who lives in the lodge told LIB that she was barely clothed due to the heat and was fast asleep when she heard John’s screams.

“I heard noise. This noise was so loud, I literally thought armed robbers were in our lodge. I was still half-n@ked because of the heat,” she said.

 

She added that those who ran downstairs found John writhing in pain from burns sustained after his female colleague bathed him with hot water.

 

The student added: “After an hour of ‘who touch me, who no touch me,’ and everywhere was already calm, she could not wait till the next day to report to Presido or something, she went to boil water and poured it on this boy. It was now his roommate that was shouting ‘Jesus, Jesus’ and everybody rushed downstairs.”

 

Another video shared with LIB shows John lying in a hospital bed, with bandages covering his chest, mid-riff, back, shoulder, arms, and parts of his legs.
