“Something that the Highways England would be very proud of” UK correspondent reports on road where Anthony Joshua suffered fatal accident (video)

Nick Pisa, a UK journalist who works as a Senior Reporter with DailyMail, visited Nigeria to report on the state of the road where Anthony Joshua and his friends suffered a fat@l accident, and he had some interesting things to say.

Pisa, while examining the site of the crash, noted how smooth and without potholes the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway was. He stated that roads like that is “something that the Highways England would be very proud of”.

However, he noted that there was a dangerous driving culture and poor road safety management.

He mentioned that he’s seen the speed limit “being flouted numerous times”.

“The driving discipline here is absolutely atrocious, being over taken, undertaken. We’ve seen people trying to cross the road, literally taking their lives into their hands to dodge the traffic that is, as you can hear, thundering past me.”

“The cars are overloaded, the trucks are overloaded. I’ve also seen cars driving the wrong way along the hard shoulder,” he added.

He also noted the missing road signs and said there was no speed monitoring systems.

Sadly, two of Anthony Joshua’s friends met their end along the road when the Lexus they were in rammed into a stationary truck on Monday Dec. 29, 2025.
