Sixteen rescued as gunmen abduct passengers along Benin expressroad

16 passengers of a commercial bus abducted along the Benin to Iyere Agbanikaka Oluku Road, Edo State, on Friday September 5, have been rescued.

 

 

 

 

This was confirmed by the spokesperson of the Edo state police command, CSP Moses Joel Yamu.

 

 

 

 

A video of other commuters of the road moments after the abduction occured, made the rounds on social media this morning. According to reports, the abduction occurred at about 4.30pm.

 

 

 

Reacting via his X handle, Yamu wrote;

 

‘’Sixteen of the victims have been rescued so far, as search and rescue operation by @EdoPoliceNG continue”
