Singer Lionel Richie cuts concert short after falling ill onstage

Music icon Lionel Richie was forced to cut short a concert in Minnesota on Wednesday night after reportedly feeling unwell while performing on stage.

Richie was performing his hit song Dancing on the Ceiling at the Grand Casino Arena in St. Paul when he began experiencing dizziness and had to sit down during the show.

Videos shared on social media showed the singer continuing the performance while moving around the stage before taking a seat on a platform. After completing the song, he moved to a piano to perform Three Times a Lady before taking an unexpected break. A short time later, saxophonist Dino Soldo addressed the audience, informing concertgoers that Richie was not feeling well and would be unable to continue the performance.

The concert marked the opening night of Richie’s latest North American tour alongside Earth, Wind & Fire. The tour is scheduled to run through mid-August, with planned stops in major cities including New York City, Chicago and Los Angeles. No further details on Richie’s condition were immediately available, and his representatives had not publicly commented on the incident at the time of reporting.
